Our furnace stopped working on January 16, 2016. We called HMS Home Warranty and they sent D and D Mechanical to look at it.

Damian played with the furnace and got it to work a bit and told us to call if it stopped again. It stopped again on January 19th so we called again. Again they sent out D and D Mechanical. Damian looked again and told us that it needed to be replaced but HMS would try to avoid it and would want us to have it cleaned before they would replace.

Cleaning was not covered by the warranty so we had Same Day Heating and Air come and clean at our own expense. They showed us that it was not in good shape and should be replaced. They gave us a bid. We called 2 other companies to come and give us a bid on replacement, which they did.

We called HMS again on January 20th requesting help again on the furnace since it was not fixed. They wanted to make us pay another deductible which we refused since it was the same problem. We were finally able to get HMS to reopen the furnace claim on January 23rd. D and D Mechanical (who was HMS's provider) called us and told us they would be submitting information to get the furnace replaced.

On January 25th, Damian from D and D Mechanical called us to let us know the report had been submitted requesting and recommending replacement of the furnace due to age and inability to be repaired. HMS will not return our phone calls. The furnace is still not working.

We are a family with 5 children, including a disabled child, with a furnace that is not working and has not been working for 11 days. HMS Warranty needs to fulfill their home warranty contract.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Preferred solution: cash for replacement of furnace that should be replaced under warranty, will repair with own company because no trust of HMS and their contractors.

HMS Home Warranty Cons: Horrible customer service, Non caring for customer, Unprofessional, Repair not complete.

Hi, I know its been a while since you post it, but I'm really interested in outcome. Did you been able to settle with home warranty or not?

I have a similar issue waiting on my furnace to be fixed or replaced over a month already.

Thinking to file a claim in small claims court just to get them follow what stated in their contract with me. Horrible service...
