CommentThey have no sense of urgency when you call to file a claim.
They say one thing, do another.
They tell you they called a contractor but when you call the contractor yourself they will have never heard of you.
Talking to CS at HMS is like talking to an uncaring brick wall.
NO ONE is responsible for your claim. You WILL talk to a different person every time you call .... and you WILL call often. Trust me.
They will do everything they can to try and NOT cover your repair. Expect to fight tooth and nail for coverage. Back up all calls with documentation.
Insist that you be in on a 3-way call when they call any service providers.... just to make sure they actually call. Yes, I'm serious.
Expect a problem that could have been fixed on your own in 2 days to take 2 weeks or more with HMS. Once again, NO SENSE OF URGENCY! They couldn't care less what you are dealing with!
Time IS money. I'm not renewing my contract with HMS. Instead I'll eat the cost of any future repairs. It's worth it to have my sanity back. Oh, so worth it.

When I complained, Chavarra from HMS stated she called three additional providers. WHen she wasn't able to get them, she stated I was required to go with the original provider. Would you want a provider in your home that you've had an argument with? |
